San Francisco, United States of America Hybrid Tier 1 Pay Range (examples: San Francisco, NYC)

Roo is hiring a VP of Sales

As VP of Sales, you will lead the design and execution of a unified revenue strategy that aligns with company objectives and sustainable unit economics. You’ll architect the structure of the sales organization—defining roles, territories, and specialization—while ensuring efficient use of headcount and budget to maximize return. Your leadership will establish a disciplined operating rhythm focused on forecast accuracy, pipeline health, and consistent quota achievement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and scale repeatable go-to-market playbooks tailored to different segments, while maintaining operational flexibility
  • Build and maintain a robust sales enablement framework, including messaging, onboarding, coaching, and objection handling
  • Implement quality assurance processes such as call reviews, deal inspections, and pipeline audits with clear feedback loops
  • Design and evolve the sales organization’s structure to support growth, including spans of control, layers, and role specialization
  • Set and enforce hiring standards, develop talent, and maintain accountability through consistent performance calibration
  • Lead the development of a high-performing leadership bench and foster a culture of coaching and continuous improvement
  • Own the go-to-market technology stack, making deliberate decisions on tooling, automation, and CRM optimization
  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Finance, and Data teams to align on key revenue initiatives and shared metrics
  • Drive transformational changes in processes, compensation, or structure without compromising ongoing performance

What We’re Looking For

You bring a track record of building and scaling sales organizations with precision and integrity. You’ve led teams in marketplace or B2B service environments with quota-driven motions, and you communicate with clarity and credibility at all levels. You’re known for developing talent, instilling discipline, and delivering predictable results.

Your approach is grounded in data and unit economics, yet you never lose sight of long-term growth. You partner effectively across functions, resolve tradeoffs with principle, and align teams around measurable outcomes. You operate with urgency, precision, and empathy—balancing high standards with team morale.
