About the Role

VON Canada is seeking a Program Coordinator to provide leadership and coordination for the Ontario Student Nutrition Program - Food and Logistics. In this role, you will support the Manager and ensure the provision of cost-effective services and programs that meet community needs.

What You'll Do

  • Ensure the provision of cost-effective client services and programs.
  • Assess clients for service needs, monitor service delivery, and contribute to program development, evaluation, and promotion.
  • Develop and implement program plans to meet department needs.
  • Manage volunteers within the program, leading orientation, training, and in-services.
  • Maintain regular engagement with clients and health partners to ensure programs meet community needs.
  • Function as a primary support contact between clients, health professionals, community support, and internal team members.
  • Track and report program results to supervisors and internal stakeholders.
  • Support financial accountability by maintaining program budgets.
  • Create and prepare financial and statistical trending reports for VON and funder obligations.
  • Complete Disaster and Emergency Drills according to VON policy.
  • Plan and participate in multi-disciplinary meetings as required.
  • Practice in accordance with VON Canada's quality, risk management, and health and safety frameworks.
  • Abide by all confidentiality and protection of personal information policies.
  • Maintain timely communication and follow-up with clients, community partners, and internal staff.

What We're Looking For

  • Post Secondary Diploma in a Health/Social Science discipline or an equivalent combination of qualifications.
  • 2-3 years of related experience in community and health-based care.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working in an environment with high confidentiality and discretion.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the social and healthcare services network and community resources, with a proven ability to build strong relationships.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to work both independently and within a team.
  • Strong organizational skills with an ability to prioritize, multi-task, and handle competing deadlines.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills, with an ability to adjust to rapidly changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Windows OS and MS Office Suite.
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable vehicle with current car insurance.
  • A current and original copy of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check upon the start of employment.

Nice to Have

  • 1-2 years of experience in program planning and evaluation.
  • Experience in volunteer administration.
  • Experience or understanding of the not-for-profit healthcare environment.
  • Ability to speak French is an asset in French Designated areas.
  • A Vulnerable Sector Search and/or Child Abuse Registry Check may be required.
