Aircall is looking for a VoIP Engineer to own the stability, performance, and scaling of our core telephony infrastructure. You will be a crucial technical driver in adopting modern cloud telephony technologies and bridging the gap between traditional telecom and cloud-native engineering. - Take primary responsibility for the configuration, deployment, and operation of our Cloud Session Border Controllers (SBCs), with deep expertise in Ribbon to manage carrier interconnects, security policies, and numbering plan logic.
- Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation to manage voice infrastructure on AWS.
- Integrate voice services into our continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
- Set up and maintain advanced monitoring, alerting, and logging systems (e.g., Datadog, Hepic) to proactively identify and resolve high-severity incidents related to connectivity and audio media quality.
- Work closely with the Infrastructure, Carriers Relations and Product teams to introduce new features, improve call routing logic, and troubleshoot complex, end-to-end communication issues.
- Introduce automation to recurring operational tasks, network provisioning, and reporting.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a VoIP/Telecommunications Engineer in a high-volume, cloud-based environment.
- Expert-level knowledge of SIP, RTP, and associated protocols.
- Deep, hands-on experience deploying and managing Cloud Session Border Controllers (SBCs), specifically Ribbon.
- Strong practical experience with AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, VPC, Lambda, SQS, CloudWatch) and using DevOps methodologies.
- Solid networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, UDP, BGP, firewalls).
Nice to Have
- AI-driven software development skills are a significant plus, particularly in scripting and backend development using languages like TypeScript, Node.js, Python, or Go.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience working with large-scale data analysis related to voice quality and call detail records (CDRs).
