You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of the core telephony infrastructure. You will lead the integration of modern cloud-based voice technologies, maintain secure and high-quality communication services for a global user base, and bridge traditional telecom systems with cloud-native engineering approaches.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain the SIP, RTP, and WebRTC systems that support the global voice platform
- Lead the configuration, deployment, and management of Cloud Session Border Controllers, with specialized expertise in Ribbon, to handle carrier connections, security rules, and number routing logic
- Use Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation to manage and provision voice infrastructure on AWS
- Integrate voice communication services into continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines
- Implement and manage advanced monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions using platforms like Datadog and Hepic to detect and resolve critical connectivity and audio quality issues
- Collaborate with infrastructure, carrier relations, and product teams to roll out new features, enhance call routing, and resolve complex end-to-end communication problems
- Develop automation for repetitive operational tasks, network setup, and reporting processes
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience as a VoIP or Telecommunications Engineer in a high-traffic, cloud-based environment
- In-depth knowledge of SIP, RTP, and related communication protocols
- Extensive hands-on experience deploying and managing Cloud Session Border Controllers, particularly Ribbon SBCs
- Strong practical experience with AWS services including EC2, VPC, Lambda, SQS, and CloudWatch, along with DevOps practices
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, UDP, BGP, and firewall configurations
Nice to Have
- Proficiency in AI-related software development, including scripting and backend programming using TypeScript, Node.js, Python, or Go
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
- Background in analyzing large-scale voice quality metrics and call detail records
