NerdWallet is looking for a Video Editor to join our Content Marketing team. This hands-on contract role requires a creative thinker who can both execute and ideate, bringing stories to life primarily for YouTube and social platforms.
What You'll Do
- Edit and package long-form YouTube videos from end-to-end
- Create short-form social video adaptations
- Develop and execute creative video ideas that simplify complex concepts
- Design infographics, explainers, and motion elements to support educational storytelling
- Contribute to brainstorms and cross-functional projects with brand, design, and marketing partners
- Edit engaging, high-quality video content for YouTube and social platforms
- Incorporate 2D animation and motion graphics to elevate storytelling
- Adapt existing templates and create new visuals using MOGRTs
- Translate complex information into clear, visual narratives
- Balance creativity with efficiency in a fast-paced production environment
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of video editing experience in an in-house or agency setting
- A strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, technical skill, and polished video content across YouTube and social platforms
- Skilled in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects
- Experience with 2D animation, infographics, and MOGRTs
- Strong storytelling instincts with a sharp eye for pacing, clarity, and impact
- Ability to thrive in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment
Nice to Have
- Experience with project management tools (e.g., Asana) and collaborating with remote teams to keep projects on track
- Comfortable working independently while contributing in a collaborative team setting
