Thomson Reuters is hiring a Vice President, Technology and M&A to shape the future of our AI strategy. This role leads the TR Labs technology ventures team, standing up an internal incubation model for AI solutions with commercial potential. You will be responsible for running a solutions engineering and discovery pipeline, incubating AI products, leading AI due diligence for M&A, and supporting our Risk, Fraud, and Compliance product line, all within a company dedicated to upholding the rule of law and turning the wheels of commerce.
What You'll Do
- Run a solutions engineering function that doubles as a discovery pipeline, leading cross-functional workshops for promising AI use cases to identify internal problems worth incubating.
- Incubate AI products with internal-to-external commercial potential, operating as an internal startup incubator co-developing solutions in areas like corporate M&A, regulatory intelligence, and compliance automation.
- Lead AI due diligence for M&A, evaluating acquisition targets' AI capabilities, data assets, and integration complexity, and providing strategic recommendations.
- Lead science and engineering teams supporting the Risk, Fraud, and Compliance product line, identifying synergies to incubate related AI capabilities.
What We're Looking For
- A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, or a Bachelor’s degree with equivalent practical experience.
- A minimum of 12+ years in technology roles with progressive responsibility, beginning with hands-on engineering or architecture.
- Experience building and leading cross-functional teams, acting as a change agent driving continuous improvement and excellence.
- Direct experience with production AI/ML systems – from prototype through deployment and scaling.
- Experience evaluating or integrating technology through M&A, technical due diligence, or strategic partnerships.
- Expertise in cloud platforms and modern infrastructure for AI workloads at enterprise scale.
- Proven ability to bridge technology, product, and business strategy – comfortable at all levels of the organization.
Nice to Have
- Experience in legal, risk, compliance, or adjacent regulated domains.
Team & Environment
You will be the lead for the Labs' technology ventures team and will report directly to the Head of Labs.
