Scopely is looking for a VFX Artist to join the team behind Monopoly Go! In this role, you will bring life to new features and minigames through compelling visual effects. You'll collaborate across disciplines to elevate gameplay and push the technical and artistic quality of our mobile-first experience.
What You'll Do
- Create VFX in Unity using particle systems, meshes, textures, shader effects, and animations.
- Actively integrate VFX in features or environments, working alongside Technical Artists.
- Collaborate with game designers, feature owners, and art leads, incorporating feedback to realize the project's artistic vision.
- Work within the style of Monopoly Go! and ensure all assets are optimized for mobile devices.
- Collaborate with other art disciplines, assisting them with technical expertise.
- Communicate updates, blockers, and concerns to production and leadership.
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of mobile game development experience.
- Mastery of Unity and the Shuriken particle system.
- Proficient in 2D texture creation using Photoshop or equivalent painting software.
- Experience in 3D modeling with tools like 3dsMax, Maya, or Blender.
- Great communication and collaboration skills, able to work in an agile team environment.
- Strong understanding of animation principles, timing, and color theory.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks.
Nice to Have
- Experience creating preview sequences and animations in After Effects or similar.
- Understanding of either node-based shader workflow or CG/HLSL shader code.
- Experience working with or having a stylized or cartoon effects portfolio.
- Passion for video games, keeping up to date with new techniques and workflows in the industry.

- Compensation: $91,300—$140,000 USD (for candidates in CA, CO, NJ, NY, and WA) + equity eligibility.
