LawDepot is seeking a UX Writer to join our team in Edmonton, Alberta. In this full-time permanent role, you will be responsible for improving product usability by refining the structure and readability of our interactive questionnaires, creating helpful and easy-to-understand web products for over 24 million yearly visitors. You’ll work 37.5 hours per week with the option for in-office or hybrid arrangements.
What You'll Do
- Develop interactive product questionnaires that customers complete to create customized legal documents.
- Write and edit text to make the creation of legal documents simple and easy for users.
- Collaborate with Legal, Design, Development, and QA departments to create powerful, interactive web products optimized for conversion.
- Gather and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement.
- Implement and explore new best practices for web products.
- Utilize internal tools to implement specifications to a high standard.
- Conduct product research and user testing to inform questionnaire improvements.
- Develop innovative strategies for increasing user engagement and retention.
- Continually develop your skills by reading and researching user experience optimization and digital marketing.
What We're Looking For
- Post-secondary education in Communications, Marketing, Law, Business, Library Science, or other relevant fields.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with conversion rate optimization and A/B testing.
- Ability to communicate complicated information succinctly and understandably.
- Understanding of conversion optimization, consumer psychology, and online marketing.
- Ability to effectively provide and receive feedback.
- Self-driven with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to identify opportunities and suggest new ideas.
- Quality decision making and sound judgement.
- Ability to learn, work with, and troubleshoot various types of technology.
Nice to Have
- Technical writing experience would be an asset.
- Knowledge of law and legal matters would be an asset.
- Working knowledge of UX best practices would be an asset.
- Software development knowledge would be an asset.
- Bilingual proficiency in French, German, or Spanish would be an asset.
