The City of Saskatoon is looking for a Utility B (Roadways) operator to join our Roadways, Fleet and Support Services team. Under the supervision of a Supervisor VI, you will operate and maintain a variety of equipment essential for our city's infrastructure.

What You'll Do

Operate various types of equipment, including sweepers, asphalt distributors, planers, compaction equipment, skid-steer loaders, sidewalk ploughs, and snow ploughs.
Perform minor maintenance, servicing, and cleaning of equipment on a regular basis.
Assist mechanics and welders with equipment repairs as required.
Maintain appropriate service records and data for the Maintenance Management System.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

Grade 10 education.
Three years' experience operating various types of equipment.
Successful completion of Operator Certification.
Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 1A Driver’s Licence.
Current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid first aid certificate.
Demonstrated ability to regularly and consistently attend work.
Knowledge of the methods, materials, and procedures used in repairing streets and sidewalks.
Knowledge of rules and regulations for safe equipment operation.
Knowledge of the work activities performed by the Roadways & Operations Division.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Physical ability to perform the assigned duties.

Team & Environment

You will be part of the Roadways section within the Transportation and Construction Department's Roadways, Fleet and Support Services Division, reporting directly to a Supervisor VI.
