The City of Saskatoon is looking for a Utility B (Roadways) operator to join our Roadways, Fleet and Support Services team. Under the supervision of a Supervisor VI, you will operate and maintain a variety of equipment essential for our city's infrastructure.
What You'll Do
- Operate various types of equipment, including sweepers, asphalt distributors, planers, compaction equipment, skid-steer loaders, sidewalk ploughs, and snow ploughs.
- Perform minor maintenance, servicing, and cleaning of equipment on a regular basis.
- Assist mechanics and welders with equipment repairs as required.
- Maintain appropriate service records and data for the Maintenance Management System.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Grade 10 education.
- Three years' experience operating various types of equipment.
- Successful completion of Operator Certification.
- Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 1A Driver’s Licence.
- Current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid first aid certificate.
- Demonstrated ability to regularly and consistently attend work.
- Knowledge of the methods, materials, and procedures used in repairing streets and sidewalks.
- Knowledge of rules and regulations for safe equipment operation.
- Knowledge of the work activities performed by the Roadways & Operations Division.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Physical ability to perform the assigned duties.
Team & Environment
You will be part of the Roadways section within the Transportation and Construction Department's Roadways, Fleet and Support Services Division, reporting directly to a Supervisor VI.
Benefits & Compensation
- Hourly rate: $29.38 to $30.85 CAD (2026 rates).

This is an onsite position based in Saskatoon.
