Jobgether is hiring a UNIX Systems Engineer to manage, maintain, and optimize our enterprise UNIX server environments. You will support Linux and AIX platforms, implement automation, and ensure system performance, reliability, and security in a dynamic, technology-driven setting.
What You'll Do
- Deploy, configure, integrate, and maintain UNIX server-based operating systems including Linux and AIX.
- Manage SAN-based storage assignments and IBM Power Series servers.
- Write and maintain Ansible playbooks and Python scripts to automate administrative tasks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance, capacity, and user issues on UNIX platforms.
- Support ESX VCenter and Nutanix AHV tasks including deployments, migrations, and API integrations.
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations for high-priority incidents.
- Maintain documentation for team processes, operational procedures, and system deployments.
- Ensure integrity, security, and availability of all UNIX-based enterprise servers in compliance with organizational standards.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience supporting UNIX platforms, with a focus on Linux server technologies.
- 1+ year experience using Ansible and Python for automation.
- Strong troubleshooting, performance analysis, and capacity planning skills.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with technical teams and stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with container technologies such as Kubernetes.
- Working knowledge of high availability and load balancing technologies.
