U-Haul is hiring a University Admissions Counselor for Grand Canyon University's Traditional Ground Campus. This is a remote position overseeing the Northern Los Angeles, CA territory, requiring residence in or near Bakersfield, CA. You will build community awareness, provide expert counseling to prospective students, and guide them through enrollment to support campus growth.
What You'll Do
- Host and implement event plans in your territory to build awareness of academic programs and generate inquiries.
- Provide exceptional counseling to prospective students and families through in-person, phone, email, text, and Zoom meetings.
- Connect with community college students, faculty, and staff, and engage all major stakeholders in your assigned territory.
- Maintain a full schedule of college fairs, school visits, presentations, community events, and campus visits.
- Support prospective students and families through the admissions process, guiding them toward a successful campus experience.
- Travel extensively within the territory using a personal vehicle and travel to Phoenix 1-3 times per month if residing outside Phoenix.
What We're Looking For
- Must live in or near Bakersfield, CA.
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- No delinquent or default status on a federal student loan as verified in a credit report.
- Outstanding time management and organizational skills.
- Clear communication and engaging presentation skills.
- Self-motivation and a strong drive to succeed.
- High emotional intelligence and the ability to demonstrate empathy.
- A valid driver's license, reliable transportation, a flexible schedule, and willingness to travel.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.

- Attended Grand Canyon University on campus as an Alumni.
- Relevant industry-related professional experience.
- Experience working with CRM tools.
