CNA is seeking an Underwriting Audit Consulting Director (Construction) to serve as an Individual Contributor responsible for specific lines of business. You will be instrumental in identifying areas for operational and training improvement, focusing on risk appetite, workflow, pricing, coverage, underwriting authority, and quality assurance.
What You'll Do
- Work with Senior Management to execute audit-related projects and bring them to a successful and timely conclusion, ensuring compliance with governance and control processes.
- Drive quality assurance in all aspects of underwriting by collaborating with business unit leaders.
- Collaborate with Underwriting Services on workflow improvements and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Support profitability, growth, and operational efficiencies by assessing competitor offerings, market appetite, and emerging exposures.
- Review files to analyze quality, selection, quoting, pricing, and insurance of new and renewal business against current underwriting guidelines.
- Work with underwriting operations to develop responses and actions responsive to audit findings.
- Create and lead intercompany audit teams auditing underwriting operations against audit criteria.
- Provide direction into corporate underwriting guidelines, philosophies, and general directives.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of ten years of underwriting experience with a proven track record of results.
- In-depth technical knowledge of underwriting theories and practices within the insurance field.
- Ability to effectively interact and communicate with all levels of external and internal business partners.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to travel as determined by business need.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
Nice to Have
- Professional designations such as Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) or Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) are preferred.

- Comprehensive and competitive benefits package.
- Compensation range: $97,000 to $189,000 annually.
