The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is hiring a TRM Patient Representative for our Train, Recovery, Move (TRM) Clinics in Bentonville and Fayetteville, AR. In this role, you will be a key part of our team, providing essential financial counseling and administrative support to patients. You will help ensure our collaborative healthcare organization continues improving patient care and the lives of Arkansans.
What You'll Do
- Counsel patients on their financial status and obligations.
- Identify and refer patients or responsible parties to appropriate sponsoring agencies.
- Process high-risk pre-certifications.
- Develop and implement denial avoidance plans.
- Produce reports on revenue cycle functions.
- Ensure financial error reports are resolved.
- Meet, greet, and assist the public; answer telephones professionally.
- Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate appointments using hospital systems.
- Conduct insurance verification and benefit explanation.
- Maintain initial plane of care (signatures, etc.) and input daily/monthly statistics.
- Collect and post payments, issue receipts, and reconcile daily deposits.
- Counsel patients on related financial information and monitor patient balances.
- Complete UB value codes, input daily charges, and reconcile charges.
- Attend required training, in-services, and staff meetings.
- May perform other assigned duties.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma/GED.
- Four (4) years of experience in business office administration, customer service, registration, billing, insurance, scheduling, or call center.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze with attention to detail.
- Organizational and problem-solving skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Excellent customer service and telephone etiquette skills.
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
- Computer/basic keyboard skills, and general knowledge of office machines, including printers and scanners.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s Degree OR Associate degree with two (2) years of experience in business office administration, customer service, registration, billing, insurance, scheduling, or call center.
