BW Papersystems is looking for a Traveling Installation Project Manager to ensure the successful installation of our manufactured machines at customer facilities across North America. You will be responsible for managing the entire onsite process, from guiding the installation team through testing and commissioning to the final handover to the customer.
What You'll Do
- Provide onsite supervision to ensure machine installation projects meet design specifications, budget, and schedule.
- Coordinate onsite installation timing and delivery to support overall project completion.
- Work directly with the project team on machine placement, electrical connections, crew management, materials, and scheduling.
- Assume responsibility for the productivity of onsite team members and contractors, efficient use of materials, and overall onsite project performance.
- Participate in activities like punch lists, electrical inspections, safety and quality reviews, preparing all necessary documentation.
- Provide technical assistance, such as interpreting drawings and recommending installation methods and equipment.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with customers and team members.
- Utilize strong problem-solving skills with a focus on eliminating risks.
- Perform additional assignments as directed by the team leader.
What We're Looking For
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time, including to remote sites and for extended periods.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work with assignments given in broad, general objectives and limits.
- Proficient use of a PC, Microsoft Windows, and the Microsoft Office suite.
Nice to Have
- A 2-year technical school or 4-year college engineering degree.
- Prior field service project management experience.
- 5 years of field service or project management experience, including leading installation projects.
- An outstanding track record of successfully completed assignments and application of sound professional judgment.
