About the Role

Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors seeks a Transportation Specialist to oversee domestic and international shipping operations and ensure on-time deliveries. You will act as a key liaison between account management, 3PLs, and carriers, balancing efficiency with exceptional service in a purpose-driven environment.

What You'll Do

  • Track and trace inbound and outbound shipments across all transport modes using web-based systems.
  • Work with carriers and 3PLs to optimize transportation performance, reduce costs, and manage exceptions in real time.
  • Assist with domestic and international freight bill audits and payment, including invoice reconciliation.
  • Support logistics coordination for expedited shipments, customer returns, customs requests, and documentation revisions.
  • Develop tracking processes for performance metrics and provide internal stakeholders with timely updates.
  • Reconcile landed costs, process manual invoices, and contribute to reporting improvements.
  • Facilitate communication between internal departments and external logistics partners.
  • Apply data-driven insights to recommend process enhancements that improve cost, service, and operational efficiency.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or 4+ years of equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of freight modes (ocean, air, LTL, FTL), shipment documentation, and logistics systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to tailor interactions based on customer needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, solve problems quickly, and adapt in a fast-paced, remote environment.
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with NetSuite ERP is a plus.
  • Familiarity with U.S. customs forms (7501) is a bonus.
  • Understanding of environmental and social impact issues is a valued asset.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Competitive base salary: $65,000 – $75,000, depending on experience.
