Southern California Edison is hiring a Transmission General Superintendent to lead the safe and reliable operation of our transmission infrastructure. This role is pivotal in supervising field crews across construction, maintenance, and emergency response activities throughout the SCE service territory.
What You'll Do
- Lead all aspects of preparing construction documentation such as schedules, resource estimates, outage requests, incident investigations, inspection plans, and personnel evaluations.
- Conduct job walks and provide project updates on transmission construction projects with Foreman.
- Gather information, analyze data, and provide detailed recommendations on construction methods, long-range schedules, and training requirements.
- Collaborate with subordinates, peers, and management regarding daily work activities.
- Facilitate the availability of resources, tools, vehicles, materials, and equipment, and promote training for a safe working environment.
- Mentor Foreman, Patrolman, and crew members, providing practical education and development through crew assignments and work scheduling.
- Interface, inform, negotiate, and resolve issues with groups such as engineering, customers, substation personnel, operations, outside suppliers, agencies, and the IBEW.
- Perform frequent field visits and document safety information.
- Assure all safety bulletins and issues are understood and complied with, and that periodic safety meetings are timely and of quality content.
- Verify TC&M planning action accuracy and timely updates.
- Ensure the protection of all company assets and the proper handling of sensitive customer data and proprietary information with the highest standards of integrity.
What We're Looking For
- Four or more years of combined experience performing or supervising in planning, design, construction, maintenance, standards & development, system operations, field operations, engineering, or construction project management in the electric industry.
- Possession of a valid Class C Driver's License.
Nice to Have
- Experience with the application of a Collective Bargaining Agreement and handling Labor Relations and Employee Relations issues.
- Experience with Transmission and/or Distribution electrical construction and wiring.
- Experience supervising field line construction crews.
- Ability to interpret and perform inspections to specifications and drawings.
- Experience with environmental compliance, safe work practices, construction/maintenance methods, techniques, tools, and equipment.
- Experience in O&M accounting, including timekeeping and completion of work order packages.
- Experience in Transmission & Distribution standards, Operations Manuals, and Accident Prevention Manual safety rules.
- Experience in Microsoft Office and SAP applications.
