Financial Ombudsman Service is hiring a Transformation Delivery lead

About the Role

As the Transformation Delivery Lead, you will play a key role in advancing the organisation’s strategic change agenda by identifying and driving initiatives that improve service delivery, operational effectiveness, and colleague experience. Your work will focus on leveraging technology-enabled solutions to create lasting value for both customers and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to uncover opportunities for transformation across customer and colleague journeys
  • Develop robust business cases using data and insight, outlining required resources, costs, and anticipated benefits
  • Partner with project managers and enablement specialists to execute initiatives across the transformation portfolio
  • Lead change management efforts to support rapid and widespread adoption of new processes and systems
  • Monitor and report on realised benefits, adjusting approaches based on performance data and feedback
  • Engage with local leadership and operational teams to align change activities with expected outcomes
  • Ensure all projects follow established standards for governance, risk, assurance, and compliance

Qualifications and Experience

You bring proven experience in managing transformation or change programmes, particularly those involving technology integration. You are skilled in applying structured delivery and change methodologies in complex, multi-stream environments. Your ability to communicate clearly and influence stakeholders at all levels enables you to build strong working relationships across departments and seniority levels. You have experience coordinating teams or managing activities across multiple initiatives, often in a matrix structure, and are comfortable reporting to governance bodies or senior boards.

While not required, professional certification in programme or portfolio management—such as MoP, MSP, or P3O—is advantageous. Familiarity with the financial services sector and its regulatory landscape will support your effectiveness in shaping relevant and compliant solutions.

Work Environment and Benefits

This role operates under a permanent hybrid model, requiring presence in one of the designated office locations—London Docklands, Cardiff, Manchester, Belfast, Coventry, or Edinburgh—for at least four days per fortnight. You will work 35 hours weekly, with flexibility available for part-time or adjusted schedules. Remote and hybrid working options support work-life balance, and professional development opportunities, mentorship, and career progression are actively supported.

The organisation offers a comprehensive benefits package including 25 days of annual leave with options to buy or sell days, a generous pension, private medical insurance, virtual GP access, critical illness and life assurance coverage, and access to a technology scheme, cycle-to-work programme, and gym membership discounts. On-site facilities include a 24/7 gym in London. Additional leave provisions include enhanced maternity pay, carers leave, and dependants leave. A strong commitment to mental health support, professional growth, and inclusion underpins a collaborative, respectful, and engaging workplace culture.

Commitment to Inclusion

The organisation is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Disability Confident Leader. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and are dedicated to building a diverse, respectful, and inclusive environment. Candidates with disabilities who meet the minimum criteria will be advanced to the next stage of the recruitment process.
