BD (Becton Dickinson) is seeking a Training Leader to identify and address training needs across our Canaan, CT manufacturing site. You will design and implement comprehensive training programs, lead the plant training organization, and ensure all activities comply with BD’s quality systems and safety regulations.
What You'll Do
- Identify, monitor, and address organizational training needs.
- Design, plan, and implement training programs, policies, and procedures.
- Provide leadership for site-wide manufacturing training activities.
- Develop cross-training and certification programs in collaboration with safety, quality, operations, and engineering teams.
- Ensure all training requirements are met and properly documented.
- Maintain compliance with BD quality systems and safety regulations.
- Oversee the plant training organization and ensure compliance.
- Optimize training processes and associated tools.
- Supervise direct reports, conduct regular one-on-ones, and manage performance reviews.
- Ensure training materials remain current, accurate, and effective.
- Create a curriculum aligned with plant strategic goals.
- Establish performance metrics to track training effectiveness.
- Develop robust training matrices by department.
- Provide regular status updates to the Plant Leadership Team.
- Review and enhance new associate onboarding.
- Support operations leadership as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in teaching, business, or a related field.
- Three years’ experience in training and curriculum development.
- One-year experience as a direct supervisor.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency in English.
- Punctual attendance.
- Commitment to BD values.
- Authorization to work for any employer in the US (BD cannot sponsor visas).
Nice to Have
- One-year experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with FDA, GMPs, and ISO requirements.
- Previous experience utilizing Lean/Continuous Improvement training methodology.
- Working knowledge of Quality Systems regulatory requirements and application to Company/Unit requirements.
