As a Trainee DevOps Engineer, you will contribute to building and sustaining advanced technical solutions within the Oil & Gas industry. Working within a collaborative team environment, you’ll carry out essential DevOps activities under the mentorship of a team lead, gaining hands-on experience with real-world systems and workflows.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate on the design and upkeep of sophisticated software platforms
- Execute routine DevOps operations with oversight and feedback from senior team members
- Engage in continuous learning to adapt to evolving tools and methodologies
Requirements
- Fundamental knowledge of Linux systems, including command-line interface, file structures, and access permissions
- Understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP/S
- Basic scripting ability using Bash or Python for task automation
- Practical experience with Docker, including writing Dockerfiles and managing containers
- Familiarity with Git workflows, including branching, commits, and pull requests
- Theoretical grasp of Kubernetes architecture and application deployment concepts like load balancing and traffic routing
- Strong analytical thinking and troubleshooting capabilities
- Demonstrated eagerness to grow and master new technologies
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to cloud environments, particularly Microsoft Azure
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and GitOps methodologies
- Experience with automation tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or ArgoCD
- Understanding of Helm for managing Kubernetes applications
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code concepts and tools like Terraform
- Basic awareness of secure software development practices (SSDLC)
