We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with strong Python development skills and expertise in Kubernetes and AWS Cloud to design, implement, and manage scalable DevOps infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate will support microservices deployment and ensure infrastructure security and compliance in a remote environment. This role is with Nexthire, a position hosted at ShimentoX Technologies.
What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and manage scalable, reliable DevOps infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
- Deploy, monitor, and maintain microservices in Kubernetes (K8s) and Docker environments.
- Perform Kubernetes administration tasks, including upgrades, CRD and operator management.
- Ensure infrastructure security, vulnerability management, and compliance (PCI, SOC2).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate DevOps best practices into software delivery.
- Contribute to automation scripts and infrastructure management using Python, Golang, and Bash.
- Maintain version control and workflow automation using Git, GitHub, or GitLab.
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins.
- Follow test-driven development (TDD) practices, ensuring unit/integration test coverage.
- Create and maintain high-quality documentation, including functional designs, runbooks, and operational guides.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 8+ years of total engineering experience with a proven track record of building scalable systems.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (K8s) and Docker.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS Cloud architecture and services.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python, Golang, and Bash scripting.
- Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
- Strong hands-on experience with Git-based version control systems (GitLab/GitHub).
- Experience in vulnerability management, infrastructure compliance, and security best practices.
- Prior experience with large-scale system software development and microservices deployment.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills — ability to work effectively in a global team environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with compliance regimes such as PCI or SOC2.
- Prior exposure to infrastructure automation frameworks and cloud-native monitoring tools.
