About the Role

Die Autobahn GmbH des Bundes is looking for a Traffic Engineer (m/w/d) to support our Traffic Control Center and Telematics department. In this role, you'll be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation and continuous improvement of our traffic control systems and network performance.

What You'll Do

  • Establish and operate a quality management system as a leadership tool to support operational obligations for traffic control systems.
  • Coordinate on traffic law and operational issues with authorities and strategic traffic management.
  • Conduct daily remote monitoring of traffic telematics systems, detect anomalies and faults, and manage fault rectification.
  • Analyze and evaluate traffic and operational data to prepare reports and derive traffic control measures.
  • Perform strategic analysis of the road network and optimize weak points.
  • Provide technical project support for the preparation and implementation of traffic-related issues.
  • Create operational performance specifications and construction descriptions.
  • Handle tendering and awarding of complex tenders within your area of responsibility.

What We're Looking For

  • A completed university degree (Bachelor/Diploma FH) in traffic engineering, industrial engineering, or comparable expertise and experience.
  • In-depth specialist knowledge in traffic engineering, particularly regarding traffic control systems.
  • Practical experience in quality management.
  • Proficient user skills in MS Office standard software.

  • A professional interest in new intelligent traffic systems.
