Wipro is hiring a Trading Engineer to serve as the single technical owner for the Corporate Risk Reporting (CRR) platform. This Tech Lead / Development Lead role is accountable for the end-to-end design, development, and technical integrity of the solution, with primary hands-on responsibility for SQL-based risk calculations and data layers.
What You'll Do
- Act as the single technical owner for the CRR platform, accountable for solution coherence, correctness, performance, and scalability.
- Lead the design and implementation of SQL-based risk logic, including base, semantic, and reporting data layers.
- Provide technical leadership across SQL developers, data engineers, and full stack engineers.
- Ensure consistency and correctness of positions, exposures, pricing, and P&L outputs across reporting use cases.
- Guide and review architectural decisions across database, data ingestion pipelines, OpenSearch, and .NET/React-based UI and API layers.
- Partner closely with the Senior Business Analyst and Domain Modeler to translate business requirements into technical designs.
- Identify, assess, and proactively manage technical risks, performance bottlenecks, and technical debt.
- Support release planning, cutovers, and production readiness.
- Define and enforce standards for SQL development, data quality, lineage, DevOps, and coding practices.
- Mentor engineers across streams and contribute to raising overall engineering quality and maturity.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, typically reflecting 10–15+ years in engineering roles delivering data-intensive or analytics-driven platforms.
- Demonstrated experience owning end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-stream engineering solutions, with deep hands-on SQL development.
- Strong experience delivering trading or risk platforms, preferably in commodities or capital markets.
- Proven ability to balance hands-on technical contribution with architectural leadership and cross-team influence.
- Strong communication skills to engage effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
- Expert-level SQL development and performance optimization.
- Strong understanding of relational data modeling, data layers, and lineage.
- Proven experience implementing complex risk or analytical logic in database-centric platforms.
- Ability to reason across data ingestion, transformation, API, and UI consumption layers.
- Strong system design skills spanning databases, services, and reporting interfaces.
- Experience owning production readiness and end-to-end solution delivery.
- Experience with ETRM (Energy Trading and Risk Management).
Nice to Have
- Experience with distributed large-scale operational databases.
- Familiarity with OpenSearch or search-based analytics patterns.
- Working knowledge of .NET backend services and React/AG Grid-based frontends.
- Experience with SAP ODP, CTRMs, or enterprise data replication.
- Exposure to cloud-native architectures and AWS-based platforms.
