RF Merchant Bank & Trust (Barbados) Limited seeks a Trader to join its Capital Markets team. In this role, you will drive sales and provide administrative support, including client meetings, trade processing, and the promotion of investment products.
What You'll Do
- Meet with walk-in clients to assess their investment needs.
- Provide clients with information to make informed investment decisions.
- Accept client instructions for buying and selling investments on the local exchange.
- Process Margin Loans in accordance with established guidelines.
- Assist with the preparation of margin loan reports.
- Perform monthly analysis of margin loans and monitor delinquent accounts.
- Prepare monthly reconciliations between BCSD and client portfolios.
- Promote and distribute the company's various investment products.
- Solicit new account holders and achieve established sales targets.
- Assist with preparing and distributing local, regional, and international trade confirmations.
- Follow up on the preparation of BCSD Trade Settlements and client payments.
- Prepare and post all trade and settlement related transactions.
- Liaise with Analysts to prepare and disseminate company research, trading reports, and ideas to clients.
- Maintain knowledge of developments in local and regional markets.
- Ensure monthly BSE billings, including contingency payments, are processed.
- Assist with preparing and reviewing portfolio statements for Investment Management clients.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in investment banking.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Nice to Have
- Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) is a strong asset.
