Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) / MUFG Bank Europe N.V. (MBE) is looking for a Trade Finance and Guarantee Specialist to join our Operations Division in Amsterdam. In this role, you will be responsible for processing and issuing all types of bank guarantees and standby letters of credit, including composing complex texts, and handling trade finance transactions such as documentary credits and collections. You will act as the primary contact for clients and provide expert guidance on these products.
What You'll Do
- Process and issue all types of bank guarantees and standby letters of credit, including the composition of complex texts.
- Process trade finance transactions such as documentary credits, documentary collections, and discounting, including amendments, acceptances, and collection reimbursements.
- Analyze potential risks associated with bank guarantees, standby letters of credit, and trade finance transactions.
- Prepare and record issuances, amendments, and related correspondence for bank guarantees, standby letters of credit, documentary credits, and documentary collections.
- Serve as the primary contact to internal and external clients regarding transaction status and operate as a subject matter expert.
- Investigate and resolve customer inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with bank policies, procedures, and regulatory rules from bodies like the ICC (UCP, URC, ISP98, ISBP, URDG 758).
- Assist in establishing, tracking, and improving standard operating procedures based on workflow and environment review.
What We're Looking For
- A degree in finance or a relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience within a complex financial services environment providing trade finance servicing, structuring trade deals and supply chain finance, while directly engaging with customers.
- Working knowledge of financial products, accounting principles, and compliance regulations.
- Knowledge of relevant regional bank policies, procedures, and government regulatory agencies.
- Understanding of economic and political risks in international trade, such as exchange rate risk.
- Comprehensive understanding of commonly used trade financing reporting, reconciliation, and audit mechanisms and tools.
