Join 3M as a Tool and Die Technician within our Plant Engineering team. You will be responsible for the fabrication, modification, and repair of plastic injection molds and components, collaborating closely with toolmakers, molding, and engineering groups to implement improvements. This role requires driving a company vehicle.
What You'll Do
- Fabricate, modify, and repair plastic injection molds and mold parts in scheduled and emergency situations.
- Perform laser welding and processing of tooling components.
- Work closely with other toolmakers, molding, and engineering groups to define and implement modifications.
- Fabricate, modify, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on plastic molds and inserts per prints and instructions.
- Use root cause analysis and innovation to improve tooling performance and reliability.
- Evaluate, troubleshoot, and make repairs while the mold is in the press, following press status reports.
- Assist in training maintenance and production personnel on tool and die equipment.
- Develop and maintain tool and die documentation, records, prints, and standard operating procedures.
- Serve as Molding Support direct contact at intervals, attending priority meetings and communicating department needs.
What We're Looking For
- A two (2) year Technical Diploma in Tool & Die/Mold Making/Die Making plus 5-years’ experience.
- A current, valid Driver’s License.

- Safe working knowledge of hoist and rigging.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Advanced working knowledge of tooling electrical components.
