Easterseals Midwest is looking for a Therapist to join our team. You will conduct therapeutic sessions utilizing best practices and evidence-based interventions with children and adults. This role involves assessing behavioral health needs to develop therapy treatment goals and providing effective crisis assessment and intervention.
What You'll Do
- Assess members' behavioral health needs to develop therapy treatment goals every 180 days at a minimum.
- Administer screener and standardized testing based on clinical need.
- Schedule therapy sessions with members and obtain required consents for treatment and licensure.
- Perform chart reviews to ensure clinical assessments and treatment plans are current and to review progress between sessions.
- Develop treatment team recommendations for follow-up support and services.
- Provide assessment and therapy related to substance use treatment and recovery (for Licensed Associate/Independent Addiction Counselors).
- Maintain clinical records in a timely manner according to standards.
- Provide effective crisis assessment and intervention, including arranging for emergency psychiatric evaluation or hospitalization as indicated.
- Assess and diagnose utilizing ICD-10 criteria. Utilize DC 0-5 for children aged birth to five and DSM-5-TR for children and adults.
- Meet productivity standards set for therapists.
- Complete progress notes using appropriate billing codes and write comprehensive, timely reports as required.
- Participate in additional training to further clinical skills (Therapist II).
- Conduct training and mentor or offer shadowing to newer therapists (Therapist III).
- Take referrals for commercial or self-pay populations (Therapist III).
- Participate in ongoing professional development and meetings (Therapist III).
What We're Looking For
- Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related behavioral health field eligible for licensure by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health.
- Two years of related experience (BHT) OR an Associate license in social work, counseling, marriage and family, or substance abuse recognized by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (BHP).
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Current, unrestricted Arizona driver’s license with no more than two minor moving violations or one accident within the past three years.
- Three years of driving experience.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Arizona DPS Level 1 fingerprint clearance card.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Satisfactory completion of a Competency Checklist within 6 months of hire.
- Strong clinical knowledge of development across the life span and best practices when working with diverse populations with trauma backgrounds.
- Extensive knowledge of managed care systems, AHCCCS/Title XIX medical assistance screening, and ADHS policies and practices.
- Knowledge and understanding of the current DSM and relevant diagnoses for the population served.
- Ability to accurately read, record, and interpret information, including assessments, measures, and diagnostic criteria.
- Demonstrated clinical competency in accordance with standards for the position.
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with well-developed problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organization, time management, project management, and multitasking skills.
- Skill in using business software and electronic health records.
- Knowledge of cultural differences and implications for appropriate services.
- Knowledge of the behavioral health system in Arizona.
- Maintains a professional appearance, communications, and actions.
- A high level of computer proficiency.
