Cleveland Clinic Health System is hiring a Telecom Engineer with expertise in Cisco collaboration solutions. You will assist in managing enterprise telecommunications projects, providing effective business solutions and support to fulfill our mission of transforming healthcare. This position operates in a hybrid work mode from Ohio, Florida, or Nevada.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate to create telecommunication platforms and associated software specifications and configurations.
- Use telephone systems and ancillary sub-systems to establish effective, enduring, and economical telecommunication business solutions.
- Provide support and consultation for voice switch, storage, and transport applications.
- Interpret business needs and determine appropriate telecom equipment and applications.
- Outline and document effective solutions to business requirements within budget and regulatory constraints.
- Manage medium to large projects using defined methodologies, coordinating telecommunication project participants.
- Assist in providing resources, installation, and supervision to make telecommunication solutions operational.
- Obtain ITIL Foundations Certification within six months of hire.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Telecommunications and five years of practical experience OR eight years of practical telecommunications experience.
- Experience in basic system administration, LEC order processing, call center applications, voicemail, customer database collection, vendor management, project management, unified messaging, PBX configuration, or voice contingency planning.
- Ability to accurately identify faults and failures and assist in rapid resolution.
- Current telecommunications product and application knowledge.
Nice to Have
- In-depth engineering-level expertise supporting Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and the broader Cisco Collaboration portfolio.
- Familiarity with Windows servers, ServiceNow, and change control processes in a large, complex healthcare environment.
- Strong understanding of SIP and analysis of SIP messaging.
- Knowledge of E911 regulations and experience with RedSky.
- Ability to work remotely while managing workload, schedules, and meetings.
- Experience deploying, maintaining, and upgrading Cisco IOS-based Voice Gateways and supporting large-scale, multi-cluster infrastructures.
- Experience opening Cisco TAC cases and working with Cisco TAC engineers.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting experience in a large, complex healthcare environment.
- Experience with certificates, Active Directory (AD) security groups, and a solid understanding of LAN/WAN networking.
- Demonstrated experience learning and implementing new applications.
- Healthcare and IT experience on platforms, technologies, and applications deployed throughout Cleveland Clinic.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with experience assisting caregivers at all levels.
- A positive, can-do attitude essential for thriving in environments with multiple, competing priorities.

Work Mode
This is a hybrid position where you will work remotely from Ohio, Florida, or Nevada, Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm. The role includes on-call requirements once every 4-8 weeks for a one-week, 24/7 rotation.
