Lockheed Martin Canada is hiring a Technical Writer for Repair Parts and Special Tools Lists (RPSTL). You will join the Publications team, developing and sustaining high-quality technical content by interpreting detailed engineering drawings, blueprints, and provisioning databases. This role demands meticulous attention to detail and the ability to thrive with multiple priorities.
What You'll Do
- Develop and sustain high-quality technical content for Repair Parts and Special Tools Lists (RPSTL).
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and provisioning databases to produce accurate documentation.
- Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and strict deadlines.
- Build constructive relationships with subject matter experts and cross-functional stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (or 5+ years authoring Illustrated Parts Breakdowns or RPSTL) in Technical Communication, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field.
- 1 to 5 years of professional experience in technical authoring, documentation, or a comparable military or academic setting.
- Familiarity with RPSTL authoring, engineering drawings/blueprints, and provisioning databases.
- Basic understanding of provisioning processes and database structures.
- Experience with structured authoring tools and XML tagging in MIL-STD-40051.
- Familiarity with S1000D.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of cross-functional teams.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a technical aptitude for understanding complex engineering concepts.
Nice to Have
- H-60 Black Hawk background.
- Experience with structured authoring tools and XML tagging in the S1000D Standard.
- Additional experience in aerospace, defense, or high-tech manufacturing environments.
- Certification in technical writing or structured authoring.
- Proficiency working in shared technical databases and version control tools like Contenta.
- Knowledge of industry standards such as ASME, ISO, or MIL SPEC documentation requirements.

- Compensation: $57,400 - $101,200 (for CA, MA, NY (excluding most major metro areas), CO, HI, IL, MD, MN, NJ, VT, WA, or DC). Salary range for other states will reflect candidate's final work location.
