Vasion is looking for a Technical Writer to join our Technical Content team within Technical Services. You will play a key role in creating and maintaining product documentation and learning resources for Vasion's Intelligent Print Automation platform, helping customers successfully configure and use our products.
What You'll Do
- Work with senior technical writers and product managers to drive documentation planning as part of the go-to-market process.
- Collaborate with Support and Technical Services teams to identify documentation gaps, validate accuracy, and ensure content meets customer needs.
- Produce high-quality admin-level end user documentation that keeps pace with ongoing SaaS feature delivery.
- Perform topic-based authoring and single-source publishing using the firm's content management system.
- Apply structured authoring principles using concept, task, and reference topic types.
- Apply metadata tags to support content organization, findability, and information architecture goals.
- Work with product managers and developers to create customer-facing release notes.
- Employ in-software help and notification features to deliver contextual assistance and promote new features.
- Review past documentation for accuracy and update content with subject matter experts.
- Contribute to and follow Vasion's evolving design and style guides.
- Assist with other external-facing technical writing and editing projects as needed.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a technical writer in a software development environment.
- Minimum of an Associate Degree in a technical field, analysis, or technical writing.
- Understanding of client-server models, SaaS, and standard network protocols.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, including a keen eye for detail.
- Proven ability to quickly understand and unpack complex technical concepts.
- Exemplary critical thinking and analytical skills; asks probing questions.
- History of working collaboratively in a team setting, with strong interpersonal skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with MadCap Flare, MadCap Capture, and MadCap Central.
- Video capture and editing experience.
- Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
- Familiarity with Intercom or similar in-software help systems.
