Thermo Fisher Scientific is looking for a Technical Writer II to play a pivotal role in developing and improving high-quality technical documentation for our industry-leading bioscience products. You will translate complex scientific information into clear, accurate, and user-focused content.
What You'll Do
- Develop, write, and edit user guides, manuals, and other technical content for Thermo Fisher Scientific products.
- Work closely with subject matter experts, project managers, and other collaborators to collect information and guarantee the accuracy and completeness of documents.
- Ensure all documents align with company standards, business unit requirements, and industry standard processes.
- Review and revise existing documentation to improve clarity, consistency, and overall quality.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to deadlines, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality documentation.
- Maintain a repository of technical guides and templates for future use.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Bioscience, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2-5 years of proven experience in technical writing, preferably within the bioscience or life sciences industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific information into clear, concise documentation.
- Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to produce accurate, high-quality documents.
- Familiarity with industry-specific terminology and standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant software.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet established deadlines.
- Willingness to complete required training and continuously update technical knowledge and skills.
Nice to Have
- An advanced degree in Biosciences is preferred.
- Certification in technical writing is considered an asset.
- Experience with XML/DITA-based authoring tools (e.g., Oxygen XML Editor/Author) and component content management systems (e.g., RWS Tridion Docs or similar) is preferred.
