Healthcare Management Administrators (HMA) is hiring a Technical Writer II to support Project Phoenix, a multi-year initiative to modernize our claims processing capabilities. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining process documentation, SOPs, and training materials to support the transition to a new claims system.
What You'll Do
- Develop, edit, and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), process work instructions (PWIs), job aids, and training guides.
- Collaborate with SMEs, Process Analysts, and Trainers to gather information and validate content accuracy.
- Translate complex technical and operational concepts into clear, concise language suitable for diverse audiences.
- Ensure documentation meets organizational standards for clarity, consistency, and compliance.
- Support the creation of visual aids, diagrams, FAQs, and quick reference materials to enhance understanding and adoption.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Communication, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 3-5+ years of experience creating technical documentation
- Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, user‑friendly content
- Experience working closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and subject‑matter experts
- Experience with markup languages (Markdown, HTML, XML)
- Familiarity with version control systems (Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket)
- Ability to read and understand technical specifications
- Experience creating diagrams or visuals using tools like Visio, Lucidchart, Figma, or Draw.io
- Understanding of content management systems (CMS) and structured authoring principles
- Exceptional written communication and attention to detail
- Strong interviewing and information‑gathering skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Comfortable working in fast‑paced or agile environments
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross‑functionally
- Curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies
