Semperis is seeking a Technical Writer to research and create original product documentation for our complex cybersecurity software. In this role, you’ll explain technical solutions clearly and collaborate with a global team of developers and subject matter experts in a fast-paced, hybrid environment.
What You'll Do
- Write, review, and maintain technical product documentation.
- Interview developers and subject matter experts to gather technical information.
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of products and customer usage.
- Verify documentation accuracy by checking content against the actual product.
- Adhere to technical documentation standards and contribute to their development.
- Identify contradictions, omissions, and inaccuracies in documentation.
- Conduct technical reviews to ensure consistent quality.
- Collaborate with peers to improve the documentation development process.
- Review, edit, and proofread materials.
- Proactively seek information from development teams.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of technical writing experience documenting software applications.
- Excellent writing, editing, and organization skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and an inquiring mind.
- Ability to comprehend and explain complex technical content.
- Ability to formulate questions that focus on documentation gaps.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and tight deadlines with ease.
- Ability to use creativity while remaining compliant with company standards.
- Strong computer skills with online documentation publishing and desktop publishing tools.
- Experience using source control systems.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Excellent oral communication, presentation, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with a global team of developers and SMEs.
- Experience writing content for rapid deployment (SaaS releases).
- Experience using MadCap Flare.
Nice to Have
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience with an emphasis in English, Technical Communication, or Information Management.
- Experience with topic-based authoring.
- Experience with source control systems, such as Git.
- Experience documenting multiple products simultaneously.
- Experience writing cybersecurity software documentation.
- Knowledge of accessibility requirements.
- Knowledge of agile software development methodologies.
