XBOW is seeking a Technical Writer who will own the content strategy for our technically sophisticated security platform. You'll make complex systems and offensive security concepts accessible, working directly with design, product, and engineering teams to influence UI and build scalable documentation systems.

What You'll Do

Collaborate with product managers to define content strategy for new releases from private preview to full release.
Suggest changes to UI text to improve user experience and reduce the need for documentation.
Provide feedback on new features by testing them hands-on and helping engineering teams find edge cases and bugs.
Plan content based on user needs by working with customer success and go-to-market teams.
Create technical documentation including API docs, integration guides, tutorials, troubleshooting guides, and reference materials.
Build content systems that scale through templates, style guides, and docs-as-code workflows.
Test and validate documentation by running code examples, calling APIs, and reproducing scenarios.
Gather and act on feedback from usage analytics, support tickets, and customer conversations.

What We're Looking For

Written technical documentation for developer, security, or enterprise admin audiences (e.g., API docs, integration guides, technical reference materials).
Documented complex technical concepts for multiple skill levels, from beginners to experts.
Worked with docs-as-code workflows using Git, markup languages, pull requests, and documentation tooling.
Tested and used the products you documented through hands-on experience.
Collaborated with engineering teams in fast-moving environments, balancing content scope and shipping deadlines.

Nice to Have

Intellectually curious, wanting to understand why features exist and what problems they solve.
Self-directed, identifying what's missing, confusing, or needs updating without being assigned tasks.
Communicates with precision, explaining complex technical concepts clearly without dumbing them down.
Comfortable with ambiguity and ready to evolve with the role as the company scales.
Understands when to use AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT to improve work, seeing them as augmentation.
