Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors is looking for a Technical Trainer - Technical Writer to play a key role in our dynamic IT and cybersecurity environment. You will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality training programs and creating clear, user-friendly documentation and materials.
What You'll Do
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver instructor-led and virtual training sessions on IT systems, software, hardware, and networks.
- Present complex technical concepts accessibly for audiences with varied skill levels.
- Utilize diverse training tools and media formats, including slide decks, e-learning platforms, videos, and interactive demos.
- Create and maintain course materials, manuals, user guides, job aids, and Knowledge Base articles.
- Assess and improve training effectiveness based on participant feedback.
- Collaborate with IT and project teams to identify training needs and update documentation.
- Assist in editing and maintaining government-required security and compliance documentation.
- Ensure accuracy of Knowledge Base articles in ServiceNow to support incident resolution.
- Comply with relevant security and privacy standards such as HIPAA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800-53.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of experience delivering IT-related training programs covering hardware, software, systems, and network operations.
- Proficiency with training and presentation tools such as PowerPoint, LMS platforms, and video conferencing software.
- Strong public speaking, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Solid organizational and planning capabilities with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Associate degree or a 2-year technical program in Computer Science or relevant field, or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of formal education.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% as required.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with adult learning principles, instructional design, and curriculum development.
- Experience in Help Desk or IT support roles.
