Remote (Global) Full-time

Red Hat is hiring a Technical Senior Project Manager, Consulting

About the Role

Red Hat seeks a Technical Senior Project Manager to independently lead and manage the resolution of varied, complex consulting project activities. You will exercise judgment and creative problem-solving to achieve project success, coordinate team member activities, and mentor new colleagues. At Red Hat, we build our culture on open source principles of transparency, collaboration, and inclusion, and we hire passionate people ready to contribute their ideas and make an impact.

What You'll Do

  • Own and deliver value-based engagements, leading delivery teams from opportunity close through successful delivery, including participation in pre-sales activities and engagement scoping.
  • Lead large-scale, high-impact, cross-functional projects aligned with strategic priorities, managing complex dependencies, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Form and coach blended internal and customer teams in applying agile software delivery, DevOps, and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, and the Mobius Loop.
  • Ensure engagements are delivered based on target outcomes, linking work to critical customer challenges and demonstrable business value.
  • Serve as a thought leader in project management practices, advising leadership on trends and improving internal frameworks and processes.
  • Manage project processes, approvals, and system tools, presenting trends to leadership and identifying courses of action based on financial analysis.
  • Act as a Change Agent to identify scaling opportunities and help customers understand the value of product-driven over project-driven organizations.
  • Facilitate the formation of successful self-organizing teams, fostering psychological safety and driving customer culture toward technology best practices.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor for key stakeholders and influencers, negotiating within complex situations to achieve account outcomes.
  • Direct project strategies across multiple workstreams to ensure alignment with organizational goals and holistic customer needs.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven expertise in managing complex, integrated IT solutions and high-complexity projects from initiation through closure.
  • Proven proficiency in coaching teams on Scrum, Kanban, and DevOps practices, utilizing tools like the Open Practice Library.
  • Demonstrated experience connecting engagement scopes to target business outcomes and collaborating on sales and pre-sales activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high-level programs with an adoption mindset and advise on strategic initiatives.
  • Experience analyzing forecasting, scheduling, and margins to recommend solutions to leadership.
  • Experience owning the change management process within a program and assessing its impacts.
  • Proven ability to mentor senior project management professionals and team members to build values of freedom, courage, commitment, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Skill in negotiating with teams, stakeholders, and others while influencing success within regional teams.
  • Confidence in communicating with customer leadership and acting as a primary executive stakeholder contact.
  • Ability to use emotional intelligence to gauge situations and prevent conflict by examining team disagreement processes.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to integrate with executive-level customer personas.
  • Solid organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Readiness for frequent travel to work alongside customers.

Benefits & Compensation

  • Target compensation range: $130,420.00 - $215,300.00.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Flexible Spending Account for healthcare and dependent care.
  • Health Savings Account with a high deductible medical plan.
  • Retirement 401(k) with employer match.
  • Paid time off and holidays.
  • Paid parental leave plans for all new parents.
  • Leave benefits including disability, paid family medical leave, and paid military leave.
  • Additional benefits including employee stock purchase plan, family planning reimbursement, tuition reimbursement, transportation expense account, and employee assistance program.
