PostHog is hiring a Technical Onboarding Specialist - SF

About the Role

PostHog is looking for a Technical Onboarding Specialist based in San Francisco. We are an open-source company building a huge community around a free-for-life product and striving to become the most transparent company ever. You will play a critical role by working with users at the very start of their PostHog journey, combining technical expertise with customer relationship skills to make them successful.

What You'll Do

  • Perform health checks on the implementation of customers who are about to pay their first bill.
  • Make contact with these customers to get them set up for success, ensuring they see value from their subscription from the start.
  • Present an adoption pathway to customers, educating them on the benefits of additional products they may not yet be using.
  • Find and implement opportunities for automation in this role.
  • Work with the wider Sales and Customer Success team to identify and hand off potential larger customers who require more focus.

What We're Looking For

  • Ability to go deep on understanding PostHog’s products, including more technical ones like Feature Flags and Data Warehouse.
  • Strong customer focus with a drive to remove any blockers to users using PostHog effectively.
  • Commercially-minded approach, thinking about how to grow and retain revenue.
  • Skill in finding creative ways to engage with customers who may never have spoken with us before.
  • Experience onboarding customers to a technical product and helping them use it in a meaningful way.
  • You must be located in San Francisco for consideration.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with similar technologies, such as developer tools more broadly, or specifically product analytics, session replay, feature flags, A/B testing, data warehouses, or data pipelines.
  • Background in a pre-sales, technical account manager, or support-type role, bringing both technical expertise and commercial acumen.
