Dublin, Ireland Hybrid Employment

Workday is hiring a Technical Learning Developer

About the Role

As a Technical Learning Developer, you’ll lead the design and evolution of learning programs tailored to technical audiences, including engineers and product managers. Your work will center on diagnosing capability gaps tied to upcoming product and technology shifts, then crafting targeted, scalable learning journeys that accelerate real-world performance.

What You’ll Do

  • Apply proven instructional design models—such as ADDIE, SAM, or Agile—to build end-to-end learning paths that are technically accurate and aligned with measurable outcomes.
  • Choose the right delivery formats—interactive labs, micro-videos, documentation, or blended sequences—based on the complexity of the topic and audience needs.
  • Use AI and large language models as co-creators: transform raw technical content, SME demos, and API documentation into structured, learner-ready modules, while ensuring quality, clarity, and instructional integrity.
  • Establish quality assurance standards for all learning assets to maintain consistency, accuracy, and effectiveness across the ecosystem.
  • Partner with technical subject matter experts, extracting knowledge efficiently and reducing their content burden through smart design and production support.
  • Advise stakeholders when training isn’t the right solution—identifying when process, tooling, or communication issues are the root cause.
  • Manage the configuration and administration of the LMS, including program setup, integrations with external platforms, and automated progress tracking.
  • Analyze engagement, completion, and sentiment data to refine content and demonstrate impact on business metrics like time-to-productivity and tool adoption speed.

What We’re Looking For

You bring at least four years of experience developing technical learning programs and have a solid grasp of software development workflows. You can read API documentation and engage meaningfully with senior architects. You’ve used AI tools in learning development—whether for drafting, storyboarding, or assessments—and can clearly explain where it adds value and where human oversight is essential.

Your instructional design skills span from needs analysis to evaluation, with a focus on creating experiences that change behavior. You communicate exceptionally well in writing, especially in asynchronous environments, and know how to build trust with technical leaders and SMEs. You’re comfortable pushing back thoughtfully when a request masks a deeper systemic issue.

Preferred Background

  • Experience configuring learning journeys or managing external content integrations in enterprise LMS platforms like Workday Learning.
  • Background in technical onboarding or developer enablement programs.
  • Experience using learning analytics to connect training activity to performance outcomes, including dashboard creation or influence.
  • Work across distributed, global teams and across time zones.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role with a base in Dublin. You’ll spend at least 50% of each quarter in-office or in the field engaging with teams, customers, and partners. Flexible scheduling is supported to balance business needs with personal commitments. Remote team members have opportunities to gather in person for key events.

The company fosters a culture rooted in integrity, empathy, and inclusive collaboration. You’ll be encouraged to take risks, grow your skills, and contribute bold ideas in an environment that values curiosity and genuine support. Accommodations are available throughout the hiring process to ensure accessibility for all candidates.
