Credit Genie is hiring a Technical Lead Engineer

Credit Genie is looking for a Technical Lead Engineer to join our Backend Engineering team. This critical role focuses on scaling our infrastructure and leading the development of new financial products. You will drive system architecture, guide engineering best practices, and collaborate closely with product, design, and data teams to empower customers toward long-term financial stability.

What You'll Do

• Lead by example by owning backend systems end-to-end, from architecture through deployment, and championing clean, scalable, secure, and maintainable code.
• Drive technical direction by making foundational architectural decisions and ensuring engineering excellence through best practices.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, mobile engineers, and data scientists to deliver impactful, customer-focused features.
• Provide technical mentorship to engineers, fostering professional growth and building a high-performing, inclusive team culture.
• Lead the design and development of greenfield projects, setting a strong foundation for future platform capabilities.
• Uphold high standards for testing, monitoring, observability, and DevOps workflows to ensure system reliability and developer productivity.
• Build systems with security and regulatory compliance in mind, ensuring robust data protection and privacy.

What We're Looking For

• 7 to 10+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• 2+ years in a technical leadership or senior individual contributor role.
• Strong background in building and scaling distributed, high-availability backend systems.
• Proficient in system design, data modeling, and API development.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects across multiple teams and disciplines.
• Passionate about mentoring, engineering excellence, and team collaboration.
• Comfortable working in a high-growth, dynamic startup environment with evolving priorities.
• Deep understanding of secure coding practices, privacy standards, and scalable architecture.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with products related to lending, credit cards, payments, or other financial services.
• Familiarity with mobile app ecosystems and financial technology.
