Responsibilities
- Evaluate technical designs of carbon removal initiatives
- Conduct site visits and project audits
- Review engineering documentation and operational data
- Assess scalability and durability of carbon storage methods
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers on technical validation
- Prepare due diligence reports for internal and client use
- Identify risks in project development timelines
- Verify measurement, reporting, and verification protocols
- Engage with project developers to clarify technical claims
- Support investment decision-making with data-driven insights
- Analyze energy and cost efficiency of removal processes
- Track innovation trends in carbon capture and storage
- Evaluate environmental co-benefits and potential impacts
- Contribute to standardization of technical assessment frameworks
- Translate complex technical findings for non-specialist audiences
- Work with third-party validators and certification bodies
- Assess alignment with recognized carbon accounting standards
- Monitor regulatory developments affecting project viability
- Support due diligence for project financing and offsets
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of climate science advancements
- Participate in technical working groups and industry forums
- Assist in developing technical criteria for procurement
- Evaluate supply chain dependencies for carbon removal systems
- Provide input on research and development roadmaps
- Support integration of technical findings into client strategies
Nice to Have
- Master’s or PhD in a relevant technical discipline
- Direct experience in carbon removal project development
- Background in chemical, mechanical, or environmental engineering
- Experience with direct air capture or bioenergy with carbon capture
- Published research in climate or environmental science
- Professional engineering license
- Experience in carbon market due diligence
- Familiarity with remote sensing or monitoring technologies
- Knowledge of international climate policy frameworks
- Experience working across global project teams
