Utopia is hiring a Technical Architect

About the Role

Lead the technical evolution of boutique hospitality developments by transforming design visions into fully coordinated, construction-ready documentation. You will play a central role in advancing projects from RIBA Stage 3 onward, with a strong emphasis on detailed modeling, interdisciplinary coordination, and regulatory compliance.

What You'll Do

Develop and refine architectural models in Revit, ensuring designs are technically sound, constructible, and aligned with original intent. Focus on creating accurate assemblies, junctions, and technical layouts while maintaining consistency across documentation packages.

  • Translate schematic designs into coordinated construction-level outputs across RIBA Stages 3 to 5
  • Integrate architectural models with structural, MEP, and interior inputs using BIM tools and Navisworks for clash detection and resolution
  • Design and maintain reusable Revit families, detail libraries, and project typologies to streamline delivery
  • Support tender and construction phases with technically robust documentation compliant with codes and local standards
  • Develop façade, roof, and structural systems based on material performance and buildability
  • Conduct quality assurance on team models and drawings, identifying risks and technical conflicts early
  • Mentor junior staff and BIM modelers, contributing to the growth of internal technical standards
  • Stay current with advancements in building technology, construction methods, and automation within BIM environments

Requirements

  • Professional degree in Architecture
  • 5–10 years of architectural experience, with a focus on low-rise residential or hospitality assets such as villas, private homes, resorts, or boutique hotels
  • Proven expertise in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Ability to present technical solutions clearly and effectively
  • Portfolio demonstrating technical proficiency and design coordination

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Rhino and Enscape
  • Background in parametric Revit families and freeform modeling
  • Familiarity with terrain modeling in Revit

Work Mode

This is a fully remote position. Regular participation in daily team meetings is expected during central European time zone (CET) working hours (9–17 or 10–18).
