About the Role

Nordex SE is seeking a Technical Advisor to play a crucial role in our Canadian wind projects. In this position, you will ensure the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) compliance and quality during the installation and finishing of Wind Turbine Generators (WTGs). You will provide specialized mechanical and electrical expertise, guide customer contractors, and ensure smooth project execution and handover.

What You'll Do

  • Proactively ensure HSE compliance throughout the WTG installation and finishing process, reporting any deviations.
  • Advise the customer's Balance of Plant (BOP) contractor to meet Nordex quality standards for a smooth handover.
  • Leverage strong technical knowledge to provide general support on all mechanical and electrical activities.
  • Document and report any quality or time deviations using the UPVISE system.
  • Ensure all mechanical works are executed according to installation instructions and tooling maintenance requirements.
  • Oversee the reception, use, and handover of Nordex tooling.
  • Conduct various inspections and quality control checks such as Incoming goods, Quality gate, and Customer Walkdown.
  • Assist in managing necessary documentation for handover to the customer and BOP contractor.
  • Build and maintain a positive relationship with the customer's BOP contractor.
  • Actively manage UPVISE Daily Progress Reports, providing live updates on supervised activities.

What We're Looking For

  • A high school diploma preferred OR an equivalent combination of experience, technical training, and safety certifications.
  • WTG on-site assembly experience is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in mechanical, electrical, or construction fields.
  • Excellent technical knowledge, communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Fluent proficiency in both English and French.
  • You must be able to work in Canada with no Company sponsorship and have the ability to obtain a US passport.
  • Ability and willingness to travel >80%.
  • Ability to spend 100% of your time at wind farms during the construction process.
  • You must possess a full valid driver’s license and be insurable under our auto insurance policy.
  • Ability to meet a weight requirement of 120kg (265 lbs.) or less to safely utilize climbing equipment.
  • Ability to successfully complete all Canadian regulatory laws surrounding pre-employment screening requirements.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of and commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
  • Properly use applicable safety equipment.
  • Speak and understand English fluently to effectively communicate safety and job-related information.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in quality management and quality control processes; Wind Turbine Assembly experience is preferred.
  • Wind Farm mechanical construction experience is preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish or German is a plus.
