About the Role

The Human Health & Performance Systems Group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory is looking for a Tech Staff professional in Neurocognitive Analysis, Modeling, and Simulation. You will join a highly interdisciplinary group focused on applying advanced technology to human health challenges.

What You'll Do

  • Participate in and lead projects related to detecting, monitoring, and rehabilitating psychological, neurological and sensory disorders, neurotrauma, and cognitive overload and fatigue.
  • Assist in developing neural-science-based algorithms, brain and human computer interfaces, and computational models.
  • Conduct data collection and analysis.
  • Generate innovative ideas and seek support for these program ideas as experience is gained.

What We're Looking For

  • A Ph.D. or Sci.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Neurocognitive Science, Speech/Hearing Sciences, or a similar technical field.
  • Background in advanced signal processing and machine learning.
  • Programming abilities with Python and/or C++.
  • Capabilities in statistical analysis and machine learning with tools like scikit-learn, PyTorch, or Tensorflow.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Nice to Have

  • Background in neuroscience, preferably modeling of neuro-motor and sensory systems and the neural basis of speech perception and production and vision.
  • Skills in neuromorphic computing (software and hardware) at both neural system and neural cell levels for real-time neurocomputational simulations.
  • Hardware development experience.
