Smart Working Solutions is looking for a Tech Lead - Mobile Platform to own and strengthen the technical foundations of our mobile banking app. This is a platform-focused leadership role supporting a small mobile team building with React Native across iOS and Android, in a fully remote, long-term environment.
What You'll Do
- Own and strengthen the technical foundations of the mobile banking app
- Ensure the mobile platform operates as a reliable, high-quality foundation for product teams
- Understand product teams' needs and remove blockers
- Drive adoption of new tools and processes through mentoring, documentation, and training
- Set high engineering standards for the mobile codebase
- Manage the trade-off between standards and product team flow
- Guide architectural decisions and platform improvements
- Support and maintain native libraries written in Kotlin, Swift, Objective-C, and Java
- Collaborate on future considerations such as a potential move to Expo
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in a technical leadership role focused on mobile platform architecture
- Strong hands-on experience with React Native for both iOS and Android
- Deep understanding of mobile engineering architecture and developer experience
- Experience setting and enforcing high engineering standards in a mobile codebase
- Ability to mentor engineers and drive adoption of best practices
- Experience maintaining and supporting native libraries in Kotlin, Swift, Objective-C, and Java
Nice to Have
- Experience with Expo or managed React Native workflows
- Prior experience evaluating or migrating to Expo from bare React Native
- Background in financial or banking technology applications
