As the Tech Lead for the Mobile Platform, you'll play a central role in advancing the technical integrity of a mobile banking application used by thousands. Working remotely in a full-time capacity, you'll lead a compact engineering team and ensure the platform delivers consistent reliability, performance, and developer efficiency across both iOS and Android.
What You’ll Do
- Take ownership of the mobile platform’s architecture, ensuring it remains scalable, stable, and aligned with evolving product needs
- Collaborate closely with product engineering teams to identify and resolve technical constraints that impact delivery
- Champion engineering best practices, from code quality to release processes, while maintaining a balance with team velocity
- Provide hands-on technical leadership through direct contributions, code reviews, and architectural guidance
- Mentor mobile engineers, improve tooling, and enhance documentation to elevate the overall developer experience
- Support and maintain native modules written in Kotlin, Swift, Objective-C, and Java, ensuring seamless integration with React Native
- Explore strategic platform shifts, including potential adoption of Expo, and guide decisions with real-world testing and evaluation
What We’re Looking For
- Proven leadership experience in mobile platform engineering, with a focus on React Native across both platforms
- Deep familiarity with mobile architecture, build systems, and platform-level tooling
- Direct experience maintaining and optimizing native code in Kotlin, Swift, or Java
- Ability to align engineering rigor with product delivery timelines
- A track record of mentoring developers and improving team-wide technical standards
- Strong commitment to release quality, testing, and long-term codebase health
Preferred Background
- Experience evaluating or transitioning React Native projects to Expo
- Previous work in fintech or secure mobile banking environments
