Lead engineers and shape technical direction for a critical part of the platform focused on client integrations. In this dual role, you’ll spend about half your time coding and the rest guiding your team to deliver robust, scalable solutions that directly impact customer workflows.
What You’ll Do
- Manage and mentor skilled engineers, supporting their growth and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence
- Define technical strategy and drive execution across initiatives that span multiple teams
- Design and implement API endpoints that power external integrations
- Optimize database performance and refine query efficiency, primarily using PostgreSQL
- Integrate with third-party platforms and services to expand platform capabilities
- Turn product goals into durable, well-structured backend logic
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues affecting customers
- Improve system stability, speed, and maintainability across cloud environments
What We’re Looking For
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with strong fundamentals in system design and debugging
- At least 2 years leading engineering teams full-time
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects and align stakeholders
- Demonstrated success hiring and developing engineers at various levels
- Skill in balancing speed and quality in a high-growth setting
- Strong communication habits—proactively sharing updates, identifying roadblocks, and asking clarifying questions
- Experience with Python and object-oriented design; candidates from other OO backgrounds may be considered
- Familiarity with serverless architectures including Lambda and EC2
- Hands-on work with asynchronous workflows and cloud infrastructure
- Comfort with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL
Nice to Have
- Exposure to large language models or generative AI systems
- Background in distributed systems
Compensation & Benefits
This position offers a salary range of $190K – $255K USD, depending on experience, performance, and location. In addition to a competitive base, the package includes significant equity, a 401(k) plan with employer match, and full coverage for medical, dental, and vision plans for employees and their families.
