As Tech Lead for Content, Social & Live Streaming, you will shape the technical foundation of a global platform that powers real-time interactions, video streaming, audio rooms, and social commerce. You'll guide engineering strategy across mobile and web, ensuring systems are scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance and user engagement.
What You'll Do
- Lead full-cycle development of core platform capabilities including social content distribution, live video streaming, voice chat rooms, and interactive monetization features like gifting and red packets.
- Design and evolve the end-to-end technical architecture across clients, backend services, and operational tooling, with a focus on scalability, operability, and long-term evolution.
- Define and track key experience metrics—such as stream start latency, audio-video sync quality, and interaction delivery rates—using data to guide product and technical improvements.
- Establish integration frameworks for third-party audio and video technologies, managing vendor relationships and change control to ensure continuity and flexibility.
- Build robust observability into the platform by defining SLIs, SLOs, and alerting systems, and lead incident response, postmortems, and resilience testing to minimize user impact during outages.
- Recruit, mentor, and manage a cross-functional engineering team, implementing strong development practices including code reviews, automated testing, canary deployments, and rollback protocols.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in internet or real-time content platforms, with at least 3 years leading engineering teams through product development from early stages to scale.
- Proven expertise in the technical challenges of live, interactive systems—low-latency communication, network resilience, concurrency handling, real-time state management, and transaction integrity.
- Strong full-stack and cross-platform design skills, with experience optimizing performance across mobile (iOS/Android), web, distributed backend systems, and real-time messaging infrastructure.
- Ability to translate business objectives into technical roadmaps, collaborating closely with product and design using shared metrics and user-centric goals.
- Experience implementing reliability engineering practices including SLO frameworks, monitoring, capacity planning, and incident management with measurable improvements in system uptime and quality.
- Excellent communication and execution skills, with a track record of aligning technical teams, stakeholders, and external partners around shared priorities and standards.
