Responsibilities
- Design foundational system architectures
- Develop core systems directly through hands-on coding
- Incorporate artificial intelligence tools and agent frameworks
- Guide engineering teams via technical mentorship
- Champion high engineering standards across concurrent initiatives
- Lead full lifecycle development of backend and full-stack platforms
- Direct engineering teams in code and architecture reviews and critical technical decisions
- Oversee technical delivery across multiple concurrent projects
- Develop modular APIs and distributed system components
- Integrate AI features—such as LLMs or domain-specific NLP and computer vision—securely, scalably, and with full observability
- Implement retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), evaluation systems, safety guardrails, and agent orchestration where they enhance product functionality
- Utilize Python, OpenAI, Anthropic, LangGraph, LangChain, LlamaIndex, vector databases, and agent tooling ecosystems
- Write robust, high-performance Python code for backend and AI/ML services
- Develop and deploy machine learning and AI components—including training, inference, and model serving—with rigorous engineering practices
- Engineer systems for maximum reliability, speed, and monitoring capabilities
- Partner with frontend developers to deliver cohesive user experiences
- Define intuitive APIs, interfaces, and developer processes
- Manage automated CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments on AWS infrastructure
- Ensure systems are scalable, resilient, secure, and fully monitored
- Lead deployment and operationalization of AI/ML models—including serving, monitoring, and lifecycle management—integrated with core applications
- Elevate engineering quality and mentor team members across the technology stack
- Provide strategic architectural guidance for complex technical initiatives
- Support recruitment efforts and contribute to the development of engineering culture
