Join Mapon as a Tech Lead for the Tachogram product team. In this role, you will lead the development of our tachograph data processing, regulatory compliance, and transport analytics solutions. You'll be responsible for engineering delivery, technical leadership, team development, and strategic alignment within our fast-growing SaaS company that is driving the evolution of smart mobility.
What You'll Do
- Own the engineering and delivery aspects including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and the full lifecycle from planning through release and maintenance.
- Keep delivery predictable through effective processes and a healthy balance between business projects, internal improvements, and operational work.
- Stay on top of timelines, scope, and milestones, flag risks early, and keep stakeholders informed.
- Shape and maintain the team's technical direction, architecture, and long-term roadmap.
- Lead solution design and architectural decisions, covering non-functional requirements, risks, and trade-offs.
- Spot technical debt and improvement opportunities and prioritize initiatives that improve team speed and product quality.
- Champion modern tooling, AI-assisted development, QA automation, and observability.
- Build a team culture of safety, ownership, collaboration, and learning while keeping workloads sustainable.
- Help team members grow through regular 1:1s, development plans, coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback.
- Ensure the team has necessary context on goals, priorities, and roadmap for autonomous decision-making.
- Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and bi-annual performance reviews.
- Co-create roadmaps with the Product Manager, advocate for technical initiatives, and connect technical decisions to business outcomes.
- Ensure engineering work ties back to company, department, and team OKRs.
- Drive continuous improvement through retrospectives, metrics, and data-driven decisions.
- Maintain the team's knowledge base including technical designs, decision logs, and processes.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Tech Lead, Engineering Manager, Technical Product Owner, or equivalent role combining technical leadership with team and people management.
- Proficiency in programming, preferably web development (PHP, MySQL/MariaDB), and extensive familiarity with associated technologies: Docker, Redis, Git, CI/CD, automated testing, caching, metrics, and monitoring.
- In-depth knowledge of solution architecture principles, patterns, trade-offs, design patterns, clean code principles, and development best practices.
- Understanding of non-functional requirements: maintainability, scalability, reliability, security, performance, and availability.
- Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
- Proven experience in people leadership: conducting 1:1s, giving feedback, mentoring engineers, and fostering team development.
- Ability to translate technical decisions and initiatives into business value and collaborate with the Product Manager as a strategic partner.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across disciplines and teams.
- Commitment to continuous learning and improvement, including championing the use of AI tools to enhance productivity while maintaining quality and security standards.

- Back-End: PHP (8.2+) with Laravel 12.
- Asynchronous processing and event-driven approaches for handling high-load tasks.
- Various AI tools (Claude code, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, etc.) for development.
- Frontend: React framework.
- Primary Data Storage: MariaDB (SQL).
- Monitoring: Sentry, Grafana & Prometheus combo, CloudWatch for APM.
- Version Control & Hosting: Git with GitLab for repositories.
- CI/CD: GitLab CI pipelines for automation.
- Environments: Docker for development and test.
- Cloud: AWS (including Lambda) for selected services and integrations.
Team & Environment
You will lead developers (Back-end, Front-end, and QA) within the Tachogram product team and work closely with the Product Manager.
