Rocky Mountain Classical Academy seeks a dedicated 3–5 Classroom Teacher to join our team. In this role, you will plan, deliver, and assess instruction aligned with the Core Knowledge/Classical curriculum, supporting the academic and personal growth of students. You will foster an inclusive, structured, and engaging classroom environment that promotes respect, curiosity, and excellence.
What You'll Do
- Develop and deliver lesson plans aligned with Core Knowledge/Classical curriculum standards.
- Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and respectful classroom environment that fosters student engagement and academic excellence.
- Use varied instructional strategies, materials, and assessments to meet the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical needs of students.
- Design learning experiences that challenge students to reach their full potential.
- Maintain an orderly, safe, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Collaborate with grade-level and school-wide colleagues to strengthen curriculum and instruction.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, expectations, and school initiatives.
- Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school events.
- Represent the school’s mission, values, and policies with professionalism in all interactions.
- Maintain accurate attendance, grading, and progress records within the student information system.
- Assess student learning regularly and provide timely feedback, progress reports, and deficiency notices.
- Conduct parent-teacher conferences to support student success.
- Submit lesson plans, assessments, and reports as required.
- Maintain proper classroom discipline and supervision to ensure safety and effective learning.
- Prepare substitute teacher lesson plans and classroom materials as needed.
- Assist with supervisory duties such as carpool, recess, and lunch coverage.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by school administration.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in classroom instruction (student teaching or 1+ years preferred).
Nice to Have
- Valid Colorado teaching license in elementary education.
- Master's degree in Education.
- Familiarity with Core Knowledge/Classical curriculum.
- Training in differentiated instruction and classroom management strategies.
