Responsibilities
- Gain and maintain expertise in advanced tax principles and regulations
- Understand and support GoSystem product functionalities and features
- Stay current with GoSystem development environments and tools
- Maintain proficiency in PC operating systems and user interface standards
- Lead the definition and execution of complex initiatives, including federal and state-level projects
- Author and update online help content for software applications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align project goals
- Enforce consistency in product design and documentation standards
- Support the creation of new features and tools beyond core software offerings
- Ensure product quality by testing for technical correctness and visual presentation
- Create and manage comprehensive testing documentation
- Initiate and track software change requests, update control logs, and coordinate with engineering teams
- Review and refine project deliverables for clarity, accuracy, and conciseness
- Propose and implement improvements to enhance product functionality
- Provide clear answers to technical inquiries from internal and external stakeholders
- Address client questions and support requests promptly and effectively
- Manage escalated project issues and ensure timely resolution
- Communicate regularly with colleagues, clients, and supervisors about bugs, system issues, progress updates, and enhancements
- Inform stakeholders of potential delays or obstacles affecting project timelines
- Participate in training sessions and industry seminars to maintain technical and regulatory knowledge
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Computer Science
- Professional experience with state and federal business or partnership income tax frameworks
- Proficiency in implementing software modifications and updates
- Proven ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally
- In-depth understanding of tax laws, regulations, and compliance standards
- Strong command of computer operating systems and software applications
- Capacity to work autonomously and respond proactively to challenges
- Skill in estimating project costs, setting deadlines, and ensuring on-time delivery
Nice to Have
- Experience preparing 1040, 1120, or 1065 tax returns
- CPA, CPA candidate status, or Enrolled Agent (EA) credential preferred
