Thomson Reuters is hiring a Tax Analyst

Thomson Reuters is looking for a Tax Analyst to join the team responsible for the GoSystem Tax product. You will participate in the design, development, and testing of the software, proactively implementing changes based on tax law updates and client needs while collaborating closely with internal teams.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain an understanding of complex tax concepts, GoSystem products, development platforms, PC operating systems, and user interface guidelines.
• Define complex projects including State & Federal projects and write applicable online help.
• Coordinate work with other departments and implement consistency standards.
• Assist in the design and development of new projects outside the core application.
• Test programs for technical accuracy and cosmetic appearance.
• Develop and maintain testing documentation books.
• Create program change requests, update control sheets, and resolve issues with Systems Engineers.
• Review and correct projects to ensure they are accurate, clear, and concise.
• Suggest and implement product enhancements.
• Provide technical assistance and client support by answering technical questions and responding to requests and project escalations.
• Communicate with employees, clients, and supervisors regarding errors, program problems, status reports, changes, and factors affecting deadlines.
• Attend periodic seminars and training classes to stay abreast of industry products and maintain skill levels.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Computer Science.
• Experience with state/federal business/partnership income taxes.
• Must be savvy with making software changes.
• Demonstrable oral and written communication skills.
• Thorough knowledge of tax accounting laws and regulations.
• Thorough knowledge of computer operating systems and computer software.
• Ability to work and react independently.
• Ability to estimate project budget, assess due dates, and follow through on timely completion.

Nice to Have

• 1040, 1120, or 1065 tax return preparation experience.
• CPA or CPA candidate or EA.
