About the Role
Experienced project manager to support donor-funded initiatives in East and Central Africa with remote coordination, budget oversight, and stakeholder engagement across complex environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead full project lifecycles from initiation and planning through to closure
- Coordinate daily activities of technical advisory teams and external consultants
- Monitor budgets, forecast financials, and ensure cost-effective delivery
- Manage risk through risk register maintenance and collaboration with security units
- Engage donors and stakeholders with consistent communication and reporting
- Oversee monitoring, evaluation, learning systems, and compliance with reporting standards
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and people management functions as needed
- Contribute to organisational knowledge sharing and business development efforts
Requirements
- Proven experience in project management within international development, aid, or security sectors
- Track record managing projects funded by bilateral or multilateral agencies such as FCDO, EU, UN, World Bank, or USG
- Demonstrated ability in budgeting, financial management, and risk oversight
- Experience collaborating with diverse, international teams and stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with high organisational ability
- Proactive mindset with adaptability and a focus on practical solutions
- Ability to work remotely across multiple time zones and travel to field locations
- Proficiency in IT tools, especially Microsoft 365 applications including Excel
- Fluent English language proficiency required

- Proficiency in regional languages is advantageous
