NRG is seeking a Talent Business Partner to provide comprehensive HR support and strategic consultation to the Smarthome organization. In this role, you will partner with management and employees to align HR initiatives with business goals, driving engagement and effectiveness across teams.
What You'll Do
- Learn about NRG and the Smarthome business to ensure HR aligns with and supports business goals.
- Build effective relationships with leaders, managers, and employees to provide seamless tactical and strategic HR support.
- Serve as an advocate and business partner by providing coaching and guidance to management and employees regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
- Drive and improve employee engagement through talent reviews, succession planning, and mentoring programs.
- Facilitate and improve the recruiting process by providing strategic assistance with job descriptions, compensation analysis, approvals, interview training, and interviewing for key roles.
- Recommend and perform quality control procedures to ensure accurate and compliant records related to promotions, transfers, and new hires.
- Partner with subject matter experts and the HR Project Management Office to design and develop HR processes and practices.
- Perform end user testing for HR system configuration changes, problem resolution, enhancements, upgrades, and integration activities.
- Partner with business leaders to confidentially manage and resolve employee relations matters.
- Coach Managers to document effectively to improve individual and team performance and actively manage performance and behavior issues.
- Conduct in-depth and impartial investigations regarding compliance and employee relations matters.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws/regulations and assess progress against company EEO/Affirmative Action goals.
- Facilitate succession planning with upper-level management.
- Manage and implement special projects as assigned.
- Provide positive customer service by responding to employees and managers on HR-related questions and promoting employee self-service.
- Prepare reports and analyze data from HR information systems for information reporting and management decision-making.
- Identify opportunities, take initiative, and formulate/develop policies and services to improve the effectiveness of current HR/business processes.
What We're Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of HR experience in a generalist/specialist function in a fast-paced, dynamic organization.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of recent experience analyzing and resolving employee issues, providing advice and counseling to managers and supervisors.
- High attention to detail with a focus on data quality.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proven abilities with office organization, process design/process improvement, and the maintenance of confidential information.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline.
- HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP.
- Experience working with HR record software, such as SuccessFactors.
- Experience working in a large corporate environment, supporting a variety of teams.
